Let's pray for our new teachers for the '24-'25 school year; those who will enter the classroom as "the teacher" this year. Statistics show that in Missouri 44% of new teachers don't stay past their 3rd year. Teaching is a calling. Ask God to anoint and equip them for the task ahead to not only educate but love, encourage and help equip students for living life. Pray for God to send them friends and mentors within their schools who will help them stay the course and above all, that those who do not know Him will find Him on their journey.

‭Psalm 139:13-14 ESV‬

"[13] For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. [14] I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.."

In this day of confusion over identity to the point of questioning one's gender, let's cry out to the Lord on behalf of our children who are being strongly influenced by this social debate. Pray that they will hear and embrace the truth of who God says they are. Pray for God to surround them with adults who will speak truth and lead them through the battle against the enemy who desires to steal their God-given identity. Pray for those young people who have believed the lies to be rescued, healed and restored. Pray for teachers and staff as they navigate new gender laws and deal with the fallout in their classrooms. God is able!

‭Psalm 15:1-2 ESV‬

O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart;

Let's pray that our children will have hearts for truth! Please pray that God will instill in them a hunger for His Word. Pray that they will not blindly follow new ideas and cultural trends but have strong discernment and seek after truth, being bold to reject lies and stand firm.

Let's lift up the parents and guardians of our school children. In a recent presentation by a local superintendent he expressed the need for greater parental/guardian involvement in the lives of our students. Let's pray for the hearts of those in parental roles to be drawn to their children. Pray that they would become really good listeners and invested in the day-to-day lives of those God has entrusted to them. For those who struggle with parenting, pray that they seek guidance and help and that God would provide mentors to come along side them. And, most important, pray that God would bring salvation to those parents who don't know Him, revival to those who may have fallen away and refreshing to those who are battling daily for the souls of our children.

Summer is a time of preparation for administration, staff & teachers in our school systems. Let's ask the Lord to anoint them all with His wisdom and direction as they set schedules, review curriculum and hire new people.

A concern for teachers is for the children to "lose ground" over the summer. Let's pray for our children to discover opportunities this summer to apply the skills they have acquired through their education so far. Pray that parents, grandparents, and caregivers will be aware of and grab opportunities to have "teaching moments" daily with their children. Above all, whether having just finished kindergarten or having graduated from college, may God bless our young people with a hunger for true knowledge and may each one find Him on their journey.

Father, you are at work in Ozark Mountain Country, and we give you praise and thanksgiving for Your hand upon us and our children. During this summer season, we lift up teachers and administrators who are involved in summer educational and enrichment programs through schools in our region. Please bless the new students who have just arrived at College of the Ozarks for the Summer Work Education Program and help them adjust to their new environment and responsibilities. Amen

For many this school year is out and summer break has begun. Let's pray for a time of refreshing and renewed vision for those teachers and staff who are on break. May God refresh body, soul and spirit and encourage their hearts! May He give them new vision and creativity for the future opportunities with our children.

There are also those teachers and staff who will be working through summer school. Please pray for them to have energy, strength and joy as they continue working to infuse knowledge into the children. Pray for the children to have inquiring minds, hearts for truth and the ability to focus and learn in the midst of summertime.

As school winds down for the '23-'24 year let's pray for families as they prepare to transition to "summer life". While that signals vacations and fun for some families it signals a time of additional stress for others with additional expenses and stress of childcare and little time together. Pray for families to be able to find loving childcare and find creative ways to enjoy summer as a family without extensive resources.

Father, Thank you for giving us the privilege to use our brains and for others to expand that capacity.

Today, please enhance and strengthen the character and spiritual qualities of our teachers, administrators and bus drivers, so their lives will positively impact the lives of our children in Taney & Stone counties.
