This week let's lift up the teachers and counselors in the Bradleyville school system. Pray for God's guidance and peace as the deal with the day to day lives of the students. Pray for insight into complicated family situations and resources to provide adequate help where needed. And pray for God's provision in the homes and families of the teachers and counselors. May they each know Him personally and intimately in Jesus name.

The winter season in the Ozarks can be hard for everyone but for some families it is made even harder by seasonal unemployment, inadequate housing and food insecurity. Evidence of this increased hardship often shows up in the emotions and behaviors of the children at school. Counselors who are already dealing with the day to day needs of many children find a significant increase in difficult and tense situations. As one counselor put it, "We're just trying to fill in lots of gaps and help not just the children but the whole family."

Pray for wisdom, understanding, strength and adequate resources for all the area school counselors. Pray too for all those families who are trying to navigate the increased difficulties that winter brings. May they seek and find God through area resources and especially the Body of Christ in the Ozarks.

Galatians 6:10 (KJV) "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."

Praying for Pastors and Church administrators. That God will give them much wisdom. Courage and strength when dealing with the difficult things that they are confronted with. And compassion and love when dealing with more sensitive issues. How they continually need God's direction. May God protect them from illness, harm and discouragement. And give them extra stamina when needed. Blessings on them and each of you.

Dear Lord, help the men and women in Congress discern what is best. We pray for a culture of life to thrive on Capitol Hill and in Jefferson City. We pray for policies that support the family as the unit You created for human flourishing. Help us, as citizens, to provide constructive support for those elected to represent us. This we pray in Jesus’ name, amen.

Last week, a local police officer stopped to help two senior citizens shovel snow from their driveway. As they shared their faith, they were reminded how important it is to be obedient to God. Thank the Lord with me for law enforcement employees in Stone and Taney County. Let’s pray for their safety and God’s guidance.

As we are all considering the events in California, please remember to pray for the overwhelmed healthcare systems as well as the first responders. Lord, please bring an end to these fires. Use Your church to be salt and light during this most difficult time. To You be the glory. Amen.

This week let's focus on the support staff in the Bradleyville schools. The bus drivers, nutrition staff, and custodians all have daily opportunities to interact with our children outside the classroom. Opportunities to share a smile, speak a word of encouragement, or just listen to a child's comment.

Pray for God to impress on each of these support staff the importance of their positions and the momentary interactions they have with the children. Pray that God would lead them in each encounter and burden their hearts to become prayer warriors for the students. Pray too for God to meet the needs of each of these workers and draw them close to Him.

Lamentations 3:22 (KJV) "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not."

This week I am burdened for our Churches and Nonprofit Ministries as they deal with challenges that they are presented with during these unusual weather conditions. May God encourage them, protect them, and give them great wisdom and resources.

And while we pray for those in Ozark Mountain Country, let's not forget to pray for our brothers and sisters in Southern California that even amidst their own loss, they will share with their neighbors and now former neighbors, the message of the only hope for this world.

Holy Father, we pray for the new Congress. Grant them wisdom and a sense of duty and honor. May they desire to love You above all, and their neighbors as themselves. As iron sharpens iron, let each member sharpen one another for the good of their families, their constituents, and the country. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

Dear Jesus, I come to you today asking for you to make a way where there seems to be no way for many. I ask that you would provide for your people by your power, might, and wisdom. That many who are struggling would receive your blessings.

Holy Spirit please give business owners wisdom, that more opportunities would be made for more residents to have higher wages and more hours to work. Most of all help every person to learn to lean not on their own understanding but in all their ways that they would trust in you! In Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
