Join your neighbors in celebrating the National Day of Prayer at the 25th Annual Ozark Mountain Prayer Breakfast. Enjoy fellowship, worship, the presentation of the Don & Dorothy Gabriel Kingdom Builder Award & an inspiring message from keynote speaker, LMB Coach Alan Cockrell.

Alan Cockrell, a distinguished all-around athlete from Southwest Missouri, excelled in football and baseball at the University of Tennessee, becoming the first true freshman QB starter and earning All- American honors in both sports. Drafted first-round by the San Francisco Giants in 1984, he played MLB for the Giants and Rockies before transitioning to coaching.

Known for his discipline-focused philosophy, he held MLB coaching positions with the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees. After retirement and knee replacements, Cockrell co-founded the Stampede Baseball Club in Charlotte, NC, mentoring teens in baseball fundamentals and Godly values.

2025 Kingdom Builder Recognition

The award is named for Don Gabriel, father of entertainer Doug Gabriel, who founded the Branson Christian Business Men’s Committee, which birthed the Ozark Mountain Prayer Breakfast. The honor is given each year to a person or persons who “contributes to the quality of the community by demonstrating in word and action a dedication and dynamic Christian life.”

Criteria for Nomination:

  1. A person who lives or works in Ozark Mountain Country (Stone or Taney County)
  2. A person who contributes to the quality of the community by demonstrating by word and action a dedicated and dynamic Christian life
  3. A person who demonstrates the following character qualities: a) Has a servant’s heart – consistently putting others ahead of self-interest b) Is a servant leader – following the example of Jesus Christ in leading by the Holy Spirit at home, in the Church and in the community c) Lives by Christian principles in all situations without compromising the truth d) Lives by a vision and a mission that includes praying for and working for God’s perfect will to be accomplished in Ozark Mountain Country
