Gracious God, there are few things that burden our hearts like the suffering of little children. Today, we pray for children who are facing various illnesses. Though their suffering is difficult to understand, we understand that our regard for them is eclipsed by your regard for them, for they are Your children. As CoxHealth seeks to expand pediatric medical care in Southwest Missouri, may you bless these efforts. May the physicians be gifted by the Great Physician. May the entire care team exhibit Your care for the little children and their families. Specifically, we pray for Molly today as she faces childhood cancer. We pray for her healing and for your grace and peace upon her and her family. In Jesus' sacred name, Amen.

Lord, we lift up the churches and their outreach to missions all over the world. Let us as the church provide prayer and financial support that much fruit would be brought forth for Your Glory. We also lift up the outreaches in the form of Bible Schools and camps, that they would not only be fun but a deep spiritual experience for all who attend. Anoint every leader and worker in these outreaches that you would speak and work through them.

Continue to pray that our Christian performers will be wise about their business and effective in sharing their testimonies. A special request is for Doug Gabriel — it is necessary for him to cancel some shows while he has back surgery and recovers from it. Pray for his healing, for the provision of his needs during a time when he can't do the shows, and thank God for Doug's firm and faithful witness.

Gracious God, we thank you that you regard us in your great mercy and grace. Help us to share your heart and care for "the least of these"--the infirm, the frail, the dying. And by doing so, may we recognize your face in those we care for. Today, we pray for the staff who are caring for the patients and families on comfort care. As these patients near death and their families grieve, may they be cared for by people who incarnate the love and mercy of Jesus. In his holy name, Amen.

Ask the Lord to work healing & hope from hard things they encountered in the last school year and to infuse them with new vision, creativity and strength as they prepare for the new school year. Pray for those who know the Lord to receive boldness to testify daily of their faith and for those who do not know Him to be drawn by His Spirit into eternal relationship with the Lord.
